Troopers said Hanson was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson Sportster west on S.R. 40 when he locked his rear brake for an unknown reason and laid the bike down.

Hanson fell off the bike and "tumbled over 180 feet," the FHP said. The bike slid for more than 360 feet, troopers said.

Hanson, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
