Hole in road closes lane of State Road 528 in Brevard

Leaky pipe causes hole to form

COCOA, Fla. – A hole in the road has forced authorities to close one lane of the Beachline in Brevard County, police said.

One eastbound lane of State Road 528 is closed Monday just west of Industry Road in Cocoa. The hole, in the middle of the road, appears to be about a foot in diameter.

"Please use caution in this area as traffic will be slowing," Cocoa police said. "(The Department of Transportation) is on the way to assess the roadway."

Police said a leaky pipe caused the hole to form.
