ORLANDO, Fla. – A SunRail train carrying 123 passengers struck a pickup truck Monday morning in Orange County, officials said.
The crash was reported at 6:05 a.m. on East Landstreet Road at Orange Avenue.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge pickup became disabled on the tracks and the 22-year-old driver got out. The train then struck the pickup, which was pushed into another vehicle, troopers said.
No one aboard the train was injured, the FHP said. The driver of the Dodge pickup was ticketed for careless driving.
Passengers on the northbound train were taken to the Sand Lake Road station, where they boarded another train, Florida Department of Transportation officials said.
FDOT said SunRail passengers can expect delays through the morning because of the crash.
No other details have been released.
