Woman dies in rollover crash on Florida Turnpike

Southbound lanes reopen in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Troopers have released the identity of the 31-year-old woman who was killed early Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on the Florida Turnpike in Orange County.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike at mile marker 254 approaching Orange Blossom Trail.

According to troopers, Jessica Abrahante, of Melbourne, lost control of her 2003 Ford Explorer for an unknown reason, and the SUV flipped multiple times when she over-corrected.

Abrahante  was wearing a seat belt, but the door of the SUV flew open during the rollover crash and she was partially ejected, troopers said. Abrahante was pronounced dead at the scene.

Video recorded by Local 6 showed a vehicle on its side facing the wrong direction with debris strewn across the roadway.

All southbound lanes of the Turnpike reopened around 6:45 a.m.
