American Airlines says crew taken to hospital

ORLANDO, Fla. – Flight attendants aboard an American Airlines plane that landed in Orlando requested to be taken to the hospital early Tuesday because of severe headaches.

It's not known what caused the illness aboard Flight 1868, which originated in Charlotte.

American Airlines said there were no toxic fumes, smoke or odors on the flight.

The Airbus 330-200 landed safely at 11:56 p.m. with 89 passengers and 10 crew members on board.

Seven flight attendants were taken to the hospital and later released, according to the airline.

No passengers were transported to the hospital.

The airline said the aircraft was not taken out of service and will travel from Orlando International Airport later Tuesday.

"The aircraft is currently being evaluated by our maintenance team," American Airline communication manager Alexis Aran Coello said in an email.

No other details have been released.
