More heat, storms in Central Florida forecast

High temperatures remain in 90s in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – They're back.

"After a little bit of a break from afternoon storms on Friday and Saturday, more storms will develop after 2 o'clock Monday in Central Florida," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

The risk for strong to severe storms comes after 3 p.m., said Bridges, who added that 60 percent of the region will see rain.

"Strong winds, up to 3 inches of rain and lots of lightning will be possible into the early evening," Bridges said.

High temperatures will blister to 93 degrees before the heavy rain falls.

"At times it will feel like 100 degrees," Bridges said.

Rain chances will be at 60 percent on Tuesday and 50 percent from Wednesday through Friday.

High temperatures will be in the mid-90s on Tuesday and in the low 90s for the rest of the week.
