Heat index to remain in 100s in Central Florida

Rain chances in Orlando at 50 percent through Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Heat and storms will continue to be the norm in Central Florida.

The average high temperature for Orlando is 92 degrees, but the high will reach 94 on Thursday.  The record high is 98, set in 2007.

The normal low temperature is 74, and temperatures will be near that overnight at 76 degrees.

Sunrise was 6:54 a.m. on Thursday.  Sunset will be at 8:04 p.m.

Meanwhile, more storms are in the forecast for the Orlando area.

"Since January 1st, Orlando has seen 19.30 inches of rain," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "The normal amount is 17.99 inches."

Rain chances will remain at 50 percent into Saturday.  They drop, however, to 40 percent for Sunday and Monday.

High temperatures will stay in the mid-90s through the weekend, but it will feel like 100 to 105 each afternoon.
