Dry spell to hit later in evening in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Local 6 is tracking showers early Thursday evening but a dry spell will hit later in the evening.

Local 6 Chief Meteorologist Tom Sorrells said later Thursday the low will be 75 degrees in Orlando.

"The morning forecast will be calm and warming on Friday," Sorrells said. "The afternoon will bring a high of 93 and a 50 percent chance of rain."

Friday Night Football will be at risk for delay as the scattered showers roll through before 8 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday both will bring a high of about 93 and a 50 percent chance of rain.

The tropics remain quiet for now. It was 10 years ago Thursday that Hurricane Frances was spinning on top of Central Florida.
