Cooldown coming to Central Florida

Highs to hit 70 degrees in Orlando over weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – Another hot day is forecast for Central Florida, but rain and cooler temperatures are on the way.

"Moisture and energy is increasing across Central Florida as southwest winds move in," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "Clouds will be increasing on Thursday."

Temperatures will warm into the mid-80s on Thursday.  The average high in Orlando is 79 degrees.

Rain chances will be at 40 percent, with a few storms for the afternoon drive.

A new front will bring an 80 percent coverage of rain on Friday, Bridges said.

Over the weekend, morning lows will be in the 40s and 50s, with highs reaching 70 degrees.
