Scorching temperatures hit Central Florida
'Real feel' temperatures to be near 100 degrees in Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. – Scorching temperatures will blanket Central Florida this week, with the "real feel" measurement hitting 100 degrees.
"Highs for our interior spots will reach around 94 degrees on Monday," said Local 6 meteorologist Julie Broughton, who said the humidity will make it feel like 100.
Winds will blow out of the east at 5 to 10 mph.
"That onshore component to our winds does keep it a little cooler at the coast, with highs reaching into the upper 80s," Broughton said.
The average high is 91 degrees in Orlando.
Rain chances will be at 20 percent in Central Florida.
"On Tuesday, our highs reach around 95 degrees," Broughton said. "The heat index will again be near 100."
Rain chances on Tuesday will be 10 percent, but the chance of rain gradually increases toward the weekend.
