Central Florida wakes up to chilly morning

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Floridians woke up to a chilly morning on Tuesday morning as temperatures were in the upper 30s to low 40s.

"Throughout the afternoon, highs will be gradually warming into the mid to lower 70s with plenty of spring sunshine," said News 6 meteorologist Candace Campos. "Pleasantly cool and sunny conditions can be expected today, with highs rising into the mid to lower 70s with a light breeze."

A ridge of high pressure sitting over the Southeast will slowly shift out into the Atlantic through the day, Campos said.

Onshore winds will develop by Tuesday afternoon starting a slow warming trend through Wednesday keeping us above average and mostly dry.

Models continue to show a weather pattern change another spring front approaches the peninsula by the later part of the work week.

Several pockets of moisture will ride along the frontal boundary increasing rain chances up to 50-60 percent for Friday and into Easter weekend.
