Weekend weather: High of 85, 40 percent chance of rain

We have a pretty nice weekend ahead of us in central Florida. Saturday we will reach a high of 85 with a 40 percent chance of rain.

We will stay mostly cloudy throughout the day which will help keep us cooler and also keep our chances of thunderstorms down, since we won't have as much daytime heating.

By noon we have a 40 percent chance of quick-moving pop up showers.

These won't be long-lived but could possibly be heavy for a short period, so I definitely recommend keeping an umbrella with you throughout the day.

This definitely isn't a washout of a day. Most of these showers will move out quickly.

Saturday is still not the best day to go to the beach, while waters could be hazardous with a high rip current risk and seas reaching 5 to 6 feet. Winds are also picking up to 10 to 15 mph with gusts possibly up to 20 mph.

By Saturday night the showers move out, leaving us with a low of 71 under a mostly cloudy sky.

Sunday will be the same story, with a high of 84 and a 40 to 50 percent chance of showers.
