Central Florida sees record high temperature

Cooler weather to come

Central Florida temperatures hovered around 80 degrees Wednesday, with a high of 85 degrees in Melbourne and 83 degrees at Orlando International airport.

That is good enough to tie the record high for the day from 1997.

We are facing a cooler forecast for the next few days, so don't expect any more record highs.

There have been a few showers popping up on radar, but there won't be any storms to rival the weather that swept through the area Tuesday night.

The low will drop to 67 Wednesday, with a 10 percent chance of rain.

Thursday will have another day of mixed clouds and sunshine. The high will be 81, with a 20 percent chance of rain.

By Friday, the cooler air is in place,  the high will be 72 with nothing but sunshine.

From here the forecast for Saturday and Sunday looks fantastic.

Expect plenty of sunshine on both days and a high near 80.
