Summer-like conditions to return to Orlando area Monday

Sunday was a bit breezy, News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor says

ORLANDO, Fla. – Wow -- just wow, News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor said Sunday about the day's weather. This is the normal temperature and sky cover for this time of year, but it's a bit breezy.

Wall-to-wall sunshine with a strong northeast wind created some caution advisories earlier in the day for swimmers and boaters.

Sunday's weather pattern will soon be forgotten as the area returns to summer-like conditions Monday, with temperatures in the 80s and a 20 percent chance of rain.

We're expecting mostly clear skies Sunday night with temperatures dropping down to 47 in Ocala, 58 in Orlando and 65 in Palm Bay. On Monday, we'll see a chance for a showers (not storms) and temperatures at 80 degrees or higher.

This warm trend will continue through mid-week, with the temperature Wednesday hitting 87.

That will lead to rain Thursday and cooler air Friday.

Next weekend looks good, at this time.

Tuesday is Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) and Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.

Enjoy being outside Sunday, Treanor said.
