Winds to bring in spotty showers overnight

Near-normal temps to return by end of week

ORLANDO, Fla. – With only some patch sunshine to put in the plus column Sunday, gusty winds continued to be the takeaway for the second day in a row. It looks like it will continue to be windy through Monday.

Some sunshine did manage to push the temperature up to 72 degrees inland, while the coastal temperature remained close to 69 degrees. But winds kicking up to 25-30 mph in gusts added some discomfort.

The easterly winds will continue Sunday night and Monday, and will increase the cloud cover and bring some spotty showers to the coastal areas. The lows Sunday night will range from 53 in Ocala to 57 in Orlando and 68 in Melbourne.

Clouds will linger on Monday as temperatures struggle to the mid-70s under a constant east wind.

Improvement arrives for Tuesday and Wednesday with sunshine and temperatures near or above 80 degrees.

There is a good chance of rain Wednesday, and then the week will be finished out with sunshine and near normal temps.

According to the calendar, it's still winter.
