Afternoon showers possible in Central Florida

Mostly sunny conditions to warm Orlando to 83 degrees

ORLANDO, Fla. – It will be mostly sunny Thursday in Central Florida, with highs reaching the low 80s.

"As a weak front continues to move through Central Florida, rain chances will be low," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "Expect a 20 percent chance of a couple of showers through the afternoon, mainly after 3 o'clock."

The high in Orlando will hit 83 degrees. The average high on this date is 77.

"Expect to see 84 on Friday and we will stay in the low 80s on Saturday," Bridges said. "Temperatures will be close to 80 on Sunday."

A new boundary moves in with rain chances increasing by the end of the weekend into Monday.

"Expect a 50 percent coverage of showers, even some storms, on Sunday," he said. "On Monday, there will be a 40 percent coverage of showers and storms."

Afternoon high temperatures next week will be closer to the average high.
