ORLANDO, Fla. – Temperatures will soar into the mid-80s Friday in Central Florida as Bike Week kicks off and spring breakers start to flock to area beaches.
The high in Orlando will reach 85 degrees. The average high on this date is 77. The record high is 93.
Daytona Beach could tie the record of 85, set in 2015.
The day will start off foggy for some.
"Once again, patchy fog will be a concern across Central Florida," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "Most of that fog will burn off by late morning."
There will be a light north-northwest wind, but drier air works into the atmosphere, leading to very low rain chances.
"For the beginning of Bike Week, we are looking mostly dry, with one or two quick-moving showers along the immediate coast," he said. "Through the weekend, we pinpoint a new area of low pressure that develops by Sunday."
Expect only a 20 percent coverage of rain on Saturday, with a high in the upper 70s both weekend days. By Sunday, rain chances increase to 60 percent, mainly for the afternoon.
Rain and possible storms are in the forecast for Monday, which will see a high in the mid-70s.
The high on Tuesday will be in the upper 60s.
