Great weather expected for Delta IV rocket launch in Cape Canaveral

Last weekend of winter; Spring starts Monday

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – "We have an absolutely beautiful weekend ahead of us," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said. "We are finally at the normal temperature for this time of year -- not too cold and not too hot."

Central Florida will make it to a high of 79 degrees under a clear, sunny sky Saturday. Rain will not be a factor, and the wind will be coming from the west at only 5 mph.

"It's a perfect day to get out on the beach if you are on spring break," Evans said.

The high in Daytona is 75 degrees, with seas only up to 2 feet.

"There is a moderate rip current risk, so make sure you are always swimming near a lifeguard," Evans said.

Saturday evening will be perfect to watch the Delta IV rocket launch. Central Florida will be mostly clear with a low of 57 degrees.

Sunday will be just as nice, but a bit cooler. Temperatures will reach a high of 77 degrees with no chance of rain, and barely any cloud cover.

Remember: Spring starts Monday at 6:29 a.m.
