Afternoon strong storms possible, warm temperatures continue

For the second day on Thursday, News 6 will be pinpointing the east and west coast sea breeze bringing showers and storms for the late afternoon and evening.

There is the risk for some strong storms with strong wind greater than 50 mph as well as lightning, heavy rain and small hail.

Rain chances will be at 60 percent mainly after 2 p.m. Thursday. On Wednesday we went to 92 degrees. The normal high is 90.

Central Florida received 1.20 inches of rain on Wednesday, putting the deficit now to 8.24 inches since Jan. 1.

Expect rain chances at 60 percent every day this week on into the weekend and next week.

High temperatures will reach the mid-90s in many spots today.

Expect to have 93 in Orlando today. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s Friday, Saturday, Sunday and into next week.

Thursday is the first day of the hurricane season and we are pinpointing nothing in the tropics.
