ORLANDO, Fla. – More rain is expected Friday across Central Florida Friday as lots of moisture streams in from the Gulf of Mexico.

Rain chances will be 60 percent Friday into the weekend and all next week.

Some heavier downpours with thunder and lightning are likely, as well as stronger wind gusts of 52 to 60 mph.

Rain will start late Friday morning. Expect slick spots on the roads all morning and very light rain.

The high on Thursday was 92 degrees. The record for June 1 was 100, set back in 1945.

The area got .24 inches of rain Thursday, which puts the deficit at 8.22 inches since Jan. 1.

Temperatures will be lower than the average of 90 for the next several days.

Expect a high of 86° on Friday and in the mid-to upper 80s through the weekend and next week.

June 1 was the first day of hurricane season. News 6 is pinpointing a system in the Pacific Ocean that could move into the gulf and bring more rain to Florida.
