Hot, hot, hot: Temperatures to soar in Central Florida

Orlando to see lower rain chances over weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – It's going to be H-O-T this weekend in Central Florida.

"We will be pinpointing some drier air across the region," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "That will lead to lower rain chances. Expect a 30 percent coverage of rain from Friday through Sunday."

Expect a few showers embedded with a few thunderstorms into the weekend, Bridges said.

"Temperatures, of course, will be much hotter," Bridges said.

Expect a high of 94 degrees on Friday. The average high on this date is 92.

"We will stay in the mid-90s through the weekend," Bridges said.

Rain chances will be higher by Monday, with high temperature near 92.

"We only had a trace of rain on Thursday," Bridges said. "That puts our rain deficit in Orlando at 10.47 inches since January 1."

Pinpointing the tropics

There is nothing of concern brewing in the tropics at this time.
