Pirate's Dinner Adventure lays off 206 employees after Hurricane Irma

Hurricane causes major damage to building

ORLANDO, Fla. – More than 200 people are out of work after Pirate's Dinner Adventure shut down because of damage caused by Hurricane Irma.

The company sent a notice to the state, announcing 206 layoffs at the attraction. The building on Carrier Drive just off International Drive has serious roof damage.

A statement on Pirate's Dinner Adventure's website says all shows have been canceled and the company will contact people who have made reservations.

Earlier this month, general manager Dan Falls posted a statement on the attraction's Facebook page, saying plans were in the works to reopen once repairs were made.
