ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Floridians should prepare for a rainy weekend due to a tropical low hanging over the area.
Mainly cloudy skies are expected Saturday, with showers and thunderstorms picking up throughout the day.
"It's going to be one of those days where the rain gear will come in handy," News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos said.
Heavy rain is possible due to the influx of tropical moisture moving over Central Florida. The moisture will continue moving to the north, and then northwest.

"It has a low chance for development, however it's still the focus for our rain through the weekend," Cokinos said. "With any passing storm two inches of rain or more is possible, along with lightning and gusty winds."
The clouds and rain will help keep temperatures in the mid- 80s.
