Warm, dry weather expected for first night of winter in Central Florida

Temperatures in 70s to 80s over Christmas weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – Expect a warm first night of winter, with lows cooling into the low 60s and mostly dry conditions. Clear skies and light winds will increase the chance of seeing some patchy fog developing early Friday morning.

Above-normal temperatures will continue through the end of the week and into the weekend. Highs will remain in the upper 70s to low 80s, with lows barely escaping the low 60s. Rain chances will be minimal until Sunday afternoon. Fog development each morning is likely in the hours just before sunrise, especially over interior areas.

We will finally see a break in the 80-degree temperatures by next week. A strong cold front will continue to slide south through Central Florida by Christmas morning. This front could bring a brief rain shower across the area, followed by cooler weather through Tuesday. Highs will remain in the upper 60s to low 70s, with lows in the upper 40s.
