Much needed rain falls on Central Florida, with more on the way

Rains will taper off Saturday night, but return for Sunday


ORLANDO, Fla. – Some much needed rain fell on Central Florida, and more is on the way.

Central Florida is caught between tropical moisture to the southeast and a weak cold front to the west, bringing some scattered showers to our Cinco de Mayo.

Rains will taper off Saturday night, but return for Sunday. Lows Saturday night will range from 67 degrees in Ocala to 71 degrees in Orlando and Melbourne.

There is a small chance of rain Sunday morning with the best chance coming after the noon hour. Highs will range from 83 degrees in Daytona Beach to 87 degrees in Palm Bay and 88 degrees in Orlando. There is a 60 percent chance of rain with possible thunder and lightning.

There is no mention of rain Monday, but it is in the forecast (20 percent) Monday night and Tuesday.

Above normal temperatures are expected for the upcoming week.
