Another hot, rainy Monday expected in areas around Central Florida

Temps could feel like they're in 100s

ORLANDO, Fla. – There were no surprises Sunday in Central Florida when it came to the weather, which included heavy, slow-moving rains once again with lots of lightning and some gusty winds.

More of the same is on tap for Monday, with temperatures once again reaching 90 degrees in Orlando, 88 in Ocala and 87 in Melbourne but feeling like it's in the 100s, News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor said.

Rain chances Monday will be close to 70 percent with some local downpours, and large rain accumulations can be expected. The remainder of the week also looks active with slight improvement by the end of the week.

Heading to the beaches will mean going very early and being prepared for storms as they build into the afternoon hours. The same thing goes for boaters.

In the tropics, all is quiet.

"The remainder of the week also looks active with slight improvement by the end of the week," Treanor said.
