Rain chances decrease slightly for back-to-school, some showers still possible

Overnight lows in the mid 70s

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rains will taper off into the evening and should clear Sunday night. Lows will range from 74 degrees in Ocala and Palm Bay to 75 degrees in Orlando.

News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor said rain chances will decrease slightly on Monday.

"While some areas will see less rain, a downpour is not out of the question," Treanor said.

Rain chances are 50 percent on Monday and 30 percent on Tuesday.  Temperatures will approach 92 degrees in most places.

A more stable and normal weather pattern is in store for the remainder of the week. Temperatures will still reach the 90s, but rain chances will linger in the 30 to 40 percent range.

In the tropics, a rain area several hundred miles east of New Jersey has a 20 percent chance of developing further.

"Pack an umbrella or poncho for school tomorrow," Treanor said.
