Sunday begins with abundant sunshine in Orlando area

More cool air won't be arriving in next week

ORLANDO, Fla. – It was a very pleasant evening Saturday, but sadly, it was a one-day event.

Saturday morning started out on a cool note for a change, but the lower temperatures won't last long.

A weak cool front passed through, bringing drier air and slightly cooler temperatures.

Saturday morning, temperatures started in the mid- to low 60s. Northern zones were a little cooler, in the upper 50s, while southern zones were in the 70s.

The cool weather was fleeting. Saturday night, under clear skies, the Central Florida area will experience more seasonal conditions as temperatures range from 61 degrees in Ocala to 70 degrees in Orlando and a balmy 74 degrees in Palm Bay.

Sunday begins with abundant sunshine, but by afternoon, enough moisture returns to give us a 20 percent chance of rain. Temperatures will be in the high 80s, near 90 degrees.

The week ahead sees daily temperatures in the 90s and rain chances going up to 40 percent by Friday.

News 6 meteorologist Danny Treanor said more cool air won't be arriving in the next week.

Tropical update: Hurricane Michael is gone. Remnants of Tropical Storm Nadine will continue to fade away. The only one left is Leslie, which was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone Saturday afternoon and moving toward Portugal. The storm should make landfall by the end of the weekend. For now, there is nothing else to monitor in the tropics.
