Week ahead looks active with high rain chances in afternoons

ORLANDO, Fla. – Keep your umbrella handy: Heat and afternoon thunderstorm patterns are in control for the next several days.

Heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds are expected. Temperatures will also be in the 90s until the rain arrives. The summer cycle has begun.

Most of the rain Saturday will be gone by midnight, allowing overnight temps to range from 74 degrees in Ocala and Palm Bay to 75 degrees in Orlando.

Rewind and repeat Sunday. High temperatures will be in the mid- and lower 90s, with rain chances at 60%.

The week ahead looks active with high rain chances in the afternoons, which is a familiar pattern.

In the tropics, it is not active currently, but we are watching some areas in the Gulf that might become more interesting.
