ORLANDO, Fla.- – As drier air moves into Central Florida, it will help suppress rain chances over the next several days.
On Monday, the day starts with plenty of sunshine and mainly dry conditions.
By the afternoon, a spotty shower or two is quite possible, but most areas will remain dry with rain chances at 20%. Highs rebound back to the upper 80s along the coast and low 90s inland.
As dry air continues to settle in Tuesday, it will be rain free. By the middle of the week, rain chances are still low between 20% and 30%.
It will still be rather windy tomorrow and for a few days in the upcoming workweek.
Along our coast we continue to see rough conditions on the water as tropical storm Humberto moves farther away from the Eastern Seaboard. A small craft advisory will be in place through Tuesday night.
Beachgoers should also use caution when entering the water as a rip current risk remains high.
An area of low pressure in the central Gulf of Mexico will continue to move toward the Texas coast, but it has a very small chance of becoming anything tropical.
Another area of low pressure in the central Atlantic has a better chance of taking on tropical characteristics over the next five days.
The National Hurricane Center puts the chance of development in the high category at 80%. This area is not an immediate threat to us but something we will continue to watch over the next several days as it moves toward the west.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Humberto will stay far east of the Florida coast and the Eastern Seaboard. The National Hurricane Center is anticipating the system will strengthen into a Category 1 or 2 hurricane by the middle of the week as it approaches Bermuda. We will keep you updated on all these changes as they develop.
