ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Floridians have waited a long time to be able to say this and now it’s finally happening: Winter is coming.
And we don’t just mean for a day or two this time. We’re getting back-to-back cold blasts that could keep temperatures chilly for several days.

“Get ready for some of the coldest air we’ve seen almost all year long,” News 6 meteorologist Candace Campos said. “And this time around, it might last longer than you expect.”
A strong cold front passing the Rockies on Thanksgiving Day will continue to dig into the southeast and into Central Florida by early next week.
The frontal boundary will arrive Monday, bringing clouds, rain and a line of possibly strong storms. Rain chances will quickly climb to 60-70% during the passage of the front.
Behind the front, highs will go from the mid-80s this weekend to the mid-60s by Tuesday. Long range models show the coldest air reaching Central Florida by Tuesday morning.

And the cold weather won’t end then. Brrrring on the next round of chilly air.
“Not only will we see a cool week ahead, a secondary front could bring a reinforcing shot of colder air by late next week, keeping temperatures well below average,” Campos said.
