ORLANDO, Fla. – The Central Florida forecast in a word: brutal.
"High pressure begins to build in from the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "That will bring big changes to the forecast compared to the last few days."
Expect rain chances to be much lower -- 20 percent -- on Tuesday.
Rain chances climb to 30 percent on Wednesday and 40 percent from Thursday through Saturday.
"With lower rain chances, it will be all about the heat in the coming days," Bridges said. "Expect a high temperature of 97 in Orlando, with the 'feels like' temperature of 105. It is going to be brutal."
The average high on this date is 92. The record high in Orlando is 99, set in 1962.
Daytona Beach has a record high of 99 degrees, set in 1983. Melbourne's record high is 97, recorded in 1999.
With a trace of rain on Monday, Orlando now has a yearly rain deficit of 6.99 inches.
