Fog lifts in Central Fla.; Tropical Storm Rina forms

Rina poses no threat to US

ORLANDO, Fla. – Dense fog once again blanketed Central Florida early Tuesday, reducing visibility for drivers during the morning commute.

"The combination of high humidity, clear skies and light winds led to dense fog across most of the region," News 6 meteorologist Candace Campos. "Visibilities dropped below a quarter of a mile in some locations, prompting a dense fog advisory until 8 a.m."

Highs will soar into the mid-80s, with a light onshore breeze.

"Expect plenty of afternoon sunshine, with mostly dry conditions," Campos said. "Rain coverage will be minimal, at 10 percent, through Thursday."

Another round of fog is expected overnight, when lows drop into the 60s.

"A weak front will arrive Friday, increasing the chance of rain to 30-40 percent," Campos said. "Don't expect a drastic cooldown behind it, as highs will only drop to the upper 70s."

The storm, which doesn't currently pose a threat to land, is centered about 800 miles east of Bermuda and is moving north near 12 mph.

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
