'Feels like' temperature may reach 105; more storms in forecast

Rain expected to clear in time for nightly fireworks shows

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Central Florida forecast will be as hot as a firecracker as the Fourth of July holiday approaches.

"It's all about the heat Monday before we pinpoint the west coast sea breeze pushing to the east," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

High temperatures will hit the 90s on Monday. Expect a high of 92 in Orlando. The average high on this date is 91.

"Temperatures will feel more like 102, at times 105 degrees," Bridges said.

Rain chances will be high once again, mainly after 2 p.m.

"Expect a 50 percent coverage of showers and storms building into drive time," Bridges said.

Rain chances will remain at 50 percent for the Fourth of July.

"Most storms will end in time for your evening plans on Monday and on Tuesday," Bridges said. "That means firework should go off without any issues."

Tuesday's high will be 94.

"Of course, temperatures will again feel more like the triple digits," he said. "If you're outside for long over the next few days, be aware that the dangerous heat and humidity will be an issue. Drink lots of water, take frequent breaks and find the shade when you can."

Rain chances it will be a little lower by Wednesday, dipping to 30 percent before jumping back to 60-70 percent for the end of the week.

The rain deficit in Orlando stands at 10.56 inches since January 1.

Tracking the tropics

There is a wave moving closer to the Lesser Antilles.

"By the middle of the week to the end of the week it has a 70 percent chance of tropical development," Bridges said. "This will likely become at least a tropical depression by the middle of the week."

If the system becomes a named storm, it would be called Don.
