A hole opens in Apopka.

APOPKA, Fla. - A massive hole, possibly caused by Hurricane Irma, opened Wednesday morning near an Apopka school.

The hole opened behind Apopka Memorial Middle School and swallowed a section of the West Orange Trail, city officials said in a Facebook post.

The hole, north of Votaw Road, south of McCoy Village Court and east of Lake McCoy, appeared to be caused by storm water from Hurricane Irma, officials said.

Residents are urged to stay away from the area.
