ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will start the workweek with an unsettled weather pattern.
"This means we have lots of humid air in place at the surface, as well as lots of moisture in the mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "The moisture in the atmosphere will help lead to more of those afternoon storms."
Some slightly drier air will try to move in, which will drop the chance of rain slightly.
Expect a coverage of 50 percent on Monday and 40 percent on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"There will be the risk of some strong to severe weather," Bridges said. "Expect some strong winds greater than 50 mph, along with very heavy rain and lightning. All of this will time out just as we drive home from work on Monday."
Expect a high temperature of 94 degrees in Orlando. The record on this date is 99 degrees, set in 1892. The average high is 92.
