ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida can expect a lot of rain Sunday.
"There is a cold front just to the north of us, which is pumping in all of this moisture," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said. "Because of all the rain and cloud cover, all of Central Florida will be staying in the mid- to high 80s, so that is the good news."
Orlando will reach a high of 87 degrees with an 80 percent coverage of rain and thunderstorms. Rain has been pushing into Marion and Flagler counties since 5 a.m. and will begin to shift to the south.

"The rain will not be consistent, and it will not make Sunday a complete washout of a day," Evans said.
There will be waves of on-and-off rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. The most widespread portion of the rain will likely be seen around 10 a.m. The rain will linger late in the day, then finally move off by midnight into 1 a.m. Wind speeds will also be gusting up to 20 mph by the afternoon and up to 50 mph in isolated thunderstorms.

By the afternoon, Central Florida could see some stronger thunderstorms and heavy downpours, which could lead to some flooding, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
Temperatures will reach a low of 74 degrees, with rain lingering in Central Florida.
"Monday is more of the same with a high of 87 and a 70 percent coverage of rain," Evans said. "This rainy and cooler trend will continue until Thursday."
