Showers, storms expected across Central Florida

Rain chances increase through work week

ORLANDO, Fla. - We are pinpointing chances or rain on Tuesday. A new front is moving in, bringing a 60 percent coverage of showers and storms for Tuesday on and off throughout the day.

There will be a chance heavy downpours and some thunderstorms for the morning commute, as well as during the lunch hour, and the drive home from work on Tuesday.

Afternoon high temperatures will be much cooler than the average. The average high for most of central Florida is in the mid-80s. We will only reach a high of 82 in Orlando on Tuesday.

Chances of rain are at 50 percent on Wednesday,30 percent on Thursday, only 10 percent Friday and 20 percent on Saturday.

Afternoon high temperatures will be in the mid-80s for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We are watching one little disturbance in the tropics moving well north of the Bahamas with only a 20 percent chance of development within the next five days. It will not impact Florida and will likely not hit the U.S.
