Storms continue to soak Central Florida

Rain expected to clear up by midnight

ORLANDO, Fla. – Rain got an early start Saturday morning over the west coast and pushed into Central Florida by noon before moving east to the beaches.

Heavy rains and downpours occurred, along with lots of lightning and gusty winds.

Some of the rain will linger into the evening and will be gone by midnight.

"Mostly cloudy skies will prevail tonight, along with temperatures that will drop to 75 in Orlando, 74 in Ocala and 73 in Palm Bay," News 6 weather anchor Danny Treanor said.

Sunday will bring a similar weather pattern.

Rain could once again get an earlier start.

"Highs on Sunday will be in the low to mid-90s, with the chance of rain at 60 percent," Treanor said.

There will be a slight drop in the chance for rain during the beginning of the week.  The chance for rain will be at 40 percent Monday through Wednesday, and temperatures will hover around 93 degrees.

No new tropical disturbances are expected in the next five days.
