ORLANDO, Fla. – The Central Florida forecast in three words: hot, hot, hot.
"We have lower rain chances Thursday, but that means the heat is on," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said.
Orlando will reach a high of 95, with the "feels like" temperature reaching 100 degrees or more by the afternoon.
"We will stay dry all morning and through the early afternoon," Evans said. "By 1 p.m., light, scattered showers develop across the east coast sea breeze."
Rain will push into the I-4 corridor by 5 p.m. and could lead to some heavier thunderstorms.
"These storms will continue to push toward the west and move out by 10 p.m.," Evans said. "We will reach a low of 75 on Thursday night, with a partly cloudy sky."
Pinpointing the tropics
Franklin made landfall in Mexico early this morning as a Category 1 hurricane, but the weather system was later downgraded to a tropical storm.

"We do have two other areas that we are keeping an eye on in the tropics," Evans said.
Invest 99L is located by the Leeward Islands and has a 40 percent chance of development over the next five days.
"All the models have it steering away from Florida," Evans said.
The other area is near the Bahamas, but it only has a 10 percent chance of tropical development.
"It will push more moisture into Central Florida by the weekend," Evans said.
