Weekend kicks off with beautiful weather

Highs to reach low 70s

ORLANDO, Fla. – What a way to kick off the weekend.

It was a little cool Saturday morning, but this afternoon will shape up nicely. High temperatures will reach the low 70s, which is right where it should be for this time of year.

It will feel like a cool 70 degrees with the 5-10 mph wind out of the north-northeast.

If you plan on hitting the coast, it will be closer to the upper 60s there.

Boaters: It looks pretty nice out there for you, with seas at 2-3 feet and no advisories.

Some clouds and a slight chill in the air Saturday will be short lived as warmer temperatures return by Sunday.

Overnight under partly cloudy skies, temperatures will sink to 55 in Orlando to 49 in Ocala to 59 in Palm Bay. There might even be some fog in a few areas.

It will be sunny to partly cloudy Sunday as more easterly winds bring in some warm air and allow temperatures to push up to 77 in Melbourne and Orlando to 75 in Daytona Beach.

By Monday, temperatures will range from 79 to 81 and that will continue into Tuesday.

By Thursday, another weak cold front ushers in the first day of winter with a 20 percent chance of rain but not much of a temperature change.

Long-range forecast shows temperatures in the mid to high 70s on Christmas Day.
