Rollins College fraternity members accused of beating student

Incident leads to temporary suspension of all Rollins frats

ORLANDO, Fla. – A newly released police report sheds light on an incident that led Rollins College to temporarily suspend its fraternities.

A fraternity member told police that three men from another fraternity attacked him and ransacked his off-campus apartment last month, according to the Winter Park Police Department.

The student told investigators the men punched and choked him, causing him to lose consciousness. They also broke a mirror and put a hole in the wall, authorities said.

The victim was taken to the Florida Hospital Orlando on Feb. 19. Two days later, Rollins College issued the suspension to all six of its fraternities.

According to the report, the student decided Monday not to pursue charges in the case.
