Orlando Health CEO, president steps down

Sherrie Sitarik's resignation effective immediately, officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Health announced the resignation of its CEO and president, Sherrie Sitarik, on Thursday, effective immediately.

The leadership change at Orlando Health is based "on the Board's desire to position Orlando Health strongly for the future," according to a release.

Sitarik has been with Orlando Health for more than 30 years, including 3 years as president.

"Even as we recognize this need for change, we do so with deep gratitude for Sherrie's service," said Dianna Morgan, Chairman, Orlando Health Board of Directors, in a release. "Sherrie has made tremendous contributions to this great institution for more than 30 years.  In many ways, she is responsible for our outstanding progress in quality and patient care and the fact that we are today an A graded hospital system by the Leapfrog Group. "

Orlando Health says an interim president and CEO will appointed shortly.
