1 dead, 1 injured in shooting at Orlando convenience store

Deputies asking for help

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies said one man was killed and a woman was injured in a double shooting at a convenience store in Orlando.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said they received a call Sunday at 2:57 a.m. of a shooting at the 7-Eleven store at 5719 Old Winter Garden Road, in Orlando.

Deputies said they found a 21-year-old man lying on the ground, dead from a gunshot wound.

A 30-year-old woman was also found with a gunshot wound and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, deputies said. She is currently in stable condition.

Neither victim has been identified at this time.

News 6 counted at least 36 evidence markers at the scene. It looked like there was a shell casing next to each one. There was also a black car parked next to a pump with both front doors open and a gas nozzle left lying on the ground.

A friend of the victim who died tells News 6 he was a good guy and a great father.

People who live around the gas station say crimes like this are happening far too often.

"The fact that this is happening, it's scary. I feel like it's not safe to come out of my house anymore. It's not safe to go to the park because people are dying and getting shot for stupid reasons," Kahleel Stephenson said.

Deputies said that no suspect is known at this time.

If anyone has information related to this incident, they are asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office or Crimeline at 407-423-TIPS.
