1 hurt in shootout at I-Drive tattoo shop over cellphone, police say

Charges pending in Orlando shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – A shootout in the middle of International Drive over a cellphone sent one man to the hospital and left a nearby neighborhood a crime scene on Tuesday morning.

The gunfire erupted in the middle of the day on Monday at a tattoo shop near Kirkman Road just before 1 p.m.

The plaza parking lot was covered with evidence markers after at least two shots were fired at the tattoo shop.

When police arrived, a tattoo shop employee told them he had been shot at and the gunman had fled in a white Chrysler 300.

Police say they later found that car at the Tangelo Park neighborhood with a bullet hole. A man was found nearby with a gunshot wound.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the tattoo shop employee returned fire, according to police.

Charges are pending.
