ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police detectives say they don't have the lead they need to figure out the person or persons who fatally shot brothers on Super Bowl Sunday. The victims' family is asking anyone who knows anything to come forward
"As painful as it is right now, the hardest of all is accepting the fact that they were murdered. They were murdered," the victims' aunt Jean Jennings said.
34-year-old Antonio and 16-year-old Christian Jones were gunned down while on their way to a Super Bowl party at the Stonebridge Reserve in MetroWest on February 7.Â
Orlando police says the brothers got off the elevator at the third floor when an unknown number of suspects were there with guns, chased them, and shot them. Investigators say they can't comment whether or not there was surveillance video.
Detectives say this wasn't a random shooting.
With no suspects or leads, the victims' family is hoping the community can help investigators find out who pulled the trigger.
"Please, we're pleading with you. We need your help. We need closure. We need answers to this senseless crime. Nobody deserves to die like this, nobody," Jennings said.
The family describes Christian as an honor student with a full life ahead of him. They say Antonio, who goes by the nickname Shay, was a giver who leaves behind two young children.
The family says it is looking for justice and closure.
"It's not going to bring Christian or Shay back, but at least we'll have piece of mind that somebody somewhere is locked up for the crime they have committed," the victims' cousin Ashawnte Jennings said.
