2 nabbed in string of bank robberies across Central Florida

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County deputies on Wednesday arrested two men they say are responsible for a string of bank robberies in Polk, Osceola and Lake counties.

Randall Wandell, 28, and Ceneca Guthride, 26, both of Lakeland, were charged with robbery and attempted robbery in the robberies at at least three Wells Fargo bank branches. Police said Wandell robbed the banks and Guthridge drove Wandell to the robberies.

In Leesburg over the weekend, police said the man, later identified as Wandell, robbed the Wells Fargo on 400 West North Boulevard. That robbery led deputies to connect the robberies with others on May 30 at the BB&T bank in Kissimmee and a May 22 robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank in Winter Haven.

"It should come as no surprise that these suspects have extensive criminal records.  Had they been in prison, they could not have robbed these banks," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Both Wandell and Guthridge are facing drug related charges as well.  Charges for the other bank robberies in other jurisdictions are pending from those investigating agencies.
