Toddler's father remains in custody

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – An Osceola County judge ordered a man accused of throwing his 2-year-old off a second-floor motel balcony to have no contact with the child.

It took the judge just a few minutes to rule on the issue in a custody hearing Wednesday

41-year-old Juan Pablo Maradiaga faces attempted murder charges after he threw his 2-year-old son from a balcony at the Budget Inn on East Vine Street in Kissimmee on Tuesday.

The court granted DCF's request to remove Juan Pablo Maradiaga Jr. from his father's custody.

The toddler, who continues to recover from his injuries, will remain in the custody of his mother.
