ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – An investigation is underway after a 3-year-old boy drowned Tuesday afternoon in a backyard swimming pool in Ormond Beach.
According to Volusia County deputies, David Airhart had been missing for at least 15 minutes before he was found unconscious in the pool at a home on Rodeo Acres Drive.
When paramedics arrived, deputies say the father was trying to resuscitate David.
Paramedics took over the CPR efforts and transported the toddler by ambulance to a medical center, where David was pronounced dead.
