ORLANDO, Fla. – Attorney E. Juan Lynum announced on Friday his candidacy for city commissioner of District 5, Orlando.
"I am running because it is in this community's best interest to sustain the programs and initiatives that Commissioner Daisy Lynum established and for us to build on that foundation. I love District 5. I was born and raised here. This is my home," Lynum said in a statement. "I am also running because I want my daughter, our next generation, to be proud to call this community her home."

Lynum is a trial and appellate attorney and son of current Orlando City Commissioner Daisy Lynum.
Juan Lynum has served as a political consultant to Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and has served on two municipal boards, officials said.
"I'm excited about this campaign and encouraged by all of my friends, family and supporters who have encouraged me to run," Juan Lynum said.
